OMAS EXTRA OGIVA WITH GOLD FILLED CAP

In 1948 Omas restyled his lines of pens and definitely adopted the piston filling mechanism for its new Ogiva-shaped and facetted models.

The restyling affected the design of the models only as the model name "Extra" was retained, as a tribute to tradition. The words " Omas Extra" in cursive were engraved on the barrel of both facetted and ogival pens.

The new models were manufactured in black, gray and tortoise celluloid. A model with gold filled cap was added in the line of Ogivas, to adjust Omas production to the new market trend, favorable to Parker-51-looking models with metal cap.

This line of Extra models was kept in production for a very short while as they were all renamed and the barrel engraving was changed. Ogival models became a bit thinner and were named Omas extra 55X/S while facetted pens were called Omas Extra 55X/F.
