WATERMAN LADY PATRICIA ONYX WITH BOX - EXCELLENT COLOR

Waterman has always paid special attention to the feminine market, offering refined and very elegant models in smaller sizes to satisfy the taste of a very demanding public.
Female hands need smaller pens and female taste needs beautiful and charming writing instruments. In most cases reducing the size and diameter of standard models ( with the suffix 1/2 and V, which mean respectively thinner than standard and shorter than standard) has been sufficient to create pens suitable for ladies. In other cases, Waterman had reviewed models and changed a number of details to design specific pens for the feminine market.
In 1929, when the new Patrician line was lauched, Waterman designed a special, smaller line of pens called Lady Patricia, which were manufactured in the same colors as their Senior counterparts (basically Onyx, Moss Agathe, Turquoise, Nacre, Green Jade and Jet Black celluloid) but had a number of different details to enhance their beauty and elegance.
As if this was not enough, the range of colors for Lady Patricia pens is known to be wider than for the standard Patrician models, including for instance the Persian among others. In addition, a series of models with sterling silver overlay was soon added to flank the celluloid line, thus creating a special, rich and highly desirable model.
The Lady Patricia has a thin stepped clip with metal cap top and a single cap band with a very simple decoration. It is a small, elegant and perfectly balanced pen.
This Lady Patrician in Onyx celluloid is in superb condition, with no difference in the color of the cap and the barrel; there is only a small area of the barrel where the celluloid has become darker, but the rest of the pen is absolutely clean.
It comes with its original Art Deco Waterman Canadian box and it is fitted with a very pleasant and flexible Waterman Nr. 2 nib, grade M.
