VISCONTI VOYAGER /KALEIDO CARAMEL ACRYLIC - CONVERTER FILLER
Visconti introduced the Voyager model in 1993.
The design of the model had been developed taking the Wahl Equipoise as a reference. The clip on this model had a patented design: its shape was meant to to recall the sinuous line of a wave and the attachment to the cap was developed to guarantee springiness.
The first Voyager models were manufactured in celluloid and had tons of problems with the filling mechanism (the Vacuum Power patented mechanism, which initially leaked a lot), the pierced cap band (which moved) and the material ( part of the celluloid was not cured well enough and pens crystallised very soon). Most of the problems were fast solved but Visconti preferred to shift to acrylic very soon for this model.
The new Acrylic model was introduced around 1995 and was called Kaleido. It was manufactured in a variety of swirling colors and as a demonstrator limited edition, too.
Visconti used both the Vacuum Power filling mechanism (revised) and the converter on the new models.
This Voyager/Kaleido pen is a converter filler and it is pre-owned.
The pen is in excellent condition with no traces of use. Nib grade is M
