TRANSITIONAL OMAS GENTLEMEN - BLACK FACETTED CELLULOID

The Extra facetted line was introduced by Omas in 1948. It comprised three sizes: 555/F, 556/F, 557/F. The pens had a single cap band and were manufactured in celluloid.
The Extra line, which comprised cylindrical pens too, was very successful and remained in production for more than 10 years.
In the early 60's Omas decided to restyle its lines once more and in 1963 introduced a refined line of facetted piston fillers in three sizes: Dama, Milord and Gentlemen. These new pens perfectly replicated size and design of their Extra predecessors. They also were fitted with the same, beautiful Extra Lucens nib with the trapezoidal vent hole. The only difference was the decoration of the cap, which now sported a beautiful greek-key cap band between two thin rings.
In the span of time between the introduction of the new line of pens and the demise of the old one, pens were marketed with the old-style cap and the new engravings on the barrel.
This pen is part of the limited number of transitional models with a single cap band and the new barrel engraving.
The nib is grade M and is very flexible.
