TABO MENTIS - very late production

The Mentis model was introduced by Tabo in the early 1940's and it was meant to be the company's less expensive line, although still very qualitative and beautiful.

This Tabo Mentis pen is a sort of mistery. It is totally different form the Mentis models of the 1940's and, above all, the material is not celluloid but appears to be resin.

It is a piston filler with a plastic box, typical of the 70s... a time when Tabo pens were no longer on the market.

Inside the box there is an instruction leaflet with some words and a date written by hand, the name of " Antonio Chierici" and his signature. The handwritten date is 1983.

Antonio Chierici was the last  Tabo sales representative and it is  very likely that he acquired part of the company and maybe the trademark before production was completely stopped.

The nib has an unusual shape, too and it shows no connection with the Tabo nibs we are aware of.

This pen is therefore a late product, manufactured in the 1970s/1980s in a very limited number of pieces, to revive one of the most famous and successful Tabo models.

An outstanding, unused, super rare pen.
