REXING button filler with incredible overlay

Rexing is one of the many Italian minor brands.

Rexing pens were produced from the late 1930's till the 1940s both as safeties and as button fillers in celluloid. In general the quality of Rexing pens was of medium level with some very nice models manufactured in beautiful color combinations.

This pen is a very unusual Rexing button filler with an incredibly beautiful  three-tone overlay. The overlay is composed of geometric lines alternating with floral decoration; the result is a very rich pattern.

The pen is fitted with its original 14 ct Rexing nib and it really is one of a kind.

The pen below the overlay is in green celluloid with gold streaks.

This type of decoration can sometimes be found on Montblanc and Kaweco safety pens with overlays produced in Italy in the 1930's. It is a very peculiar pattern and it was most probably manufactured by the Cavaliere workshop in Milan.
