RARE WATERMAN 42 WITH UNUSUAl 18 KR ITALIAN OVERLAY

This is a very peculiar and beautiful  Waterman safety 42 with Italian rolled gold overlay produced by the Milan-based  Cavaliere Company in the 1920's.

The overlay is in near mint condition and it is very elaborate and rich:  it sports high relief flowers, filigree bands and a facetted section of the barrel. 

There are no dings nor brassed areas and the pen is really shiny.

The nib is 14 ct Waterman nr. 2.
