OMAS LUCENS SENIOR SIZE- GRAY MARBLED CELLULOID - WARTIME FINISH

The Lucens model was introduced in 1936 in a wide range of beautiful colors, gray marbled, green marbled, blue marbled, burgundy marbled, blue striped, brown tortoiseshell and black.

The transparency of the barrel of Lucens models can have either a reddish or a yellowish shade, thus doubling the color combinations you can find on these pens.

The model was introduced with a beautiful wide greek key cap band placed among two thin cap rings. This metal trim had to be abandoned in favour of three thin chrome colored cap rings during wartime years, when the use of gold had to be limited. During those difficult years, gold nibs were banned too, and Permanio nibs were adopted to replace them.

In the following years, once the war was over and the economy started to recover, many wartime  pens which had been marketed with Permanio nibs, got back their gold nibs and this explain why we can very often find Omas pens with wartime finish and beautiful gold nibs.

This pen is one of these.

This Omas Lucens in gray marbled celluloid is a senior size in superb condition . The nib is a beautiful Omas Extra 585 with an F, very flexible tip.
