OMAS EXTRA LADY SIZE - CAPPUCCINO CELLULOID

In 1946 Omas introduced their first piston fillers which replaced the traditional reverse plunger mechanism which had been used on Lucens and Exra Lucens models.
The new line of piston filers was identified with the name "Extra", followed by a model number: 557 for the oversize model, 556 for the standard model and 555 for the Lady size. The line replicated the style of Omas Lucens pens, with a roller clip, three cap bands and the typical Omas design and proportions of cap and barrel.
This line of pens was manufactured in a wide range of colors, including blue marbled, cappuccino, arco bronze and arco gray. They are not so common today as they were produced and marketed for a couple of years only and were soon replaced by the more modern line of Ogiva Extras whcih were introduced in 1948.
This Omas Extra lady size piston filler in cappuccino celluloid is a very cute and charming example of this line of pens. The celluloid has slightly darkened but still retains the original mild contrast between tones of dark brown and light amber typical of this type of rare celluloid.
The pen is fitted with a very pleasant Omas 14 ct gold nib, which is extremely pleasant to use.
