OMAS 5567S WITH GOLD FILLED CAP - FLEXIBLE NIB

In 1948  Omas restyled its entire range of products choosing a modern and fashionable ogival design to be flanked by the traditional facetted lines which were rejuvenated, too.

All the new lines were fitted with a piston filling mechanism and were named Extra 55X.

The Extra  556 was the standard size and it was available both as a cylindrical model with the suffix "S" and as a facetted model with the suffix "F". The 555 was the ladysize and 557 was the oversize and they were available in the facetted and cylindrical versions, too. The 556 is actually a work horse, suitable for long writing sessions. It is light in the hand with a comfortable grip.

Only sizes 556 and 555 were offered with gold filled caps. Omas Extra models with gold filled cap represent Omas' reply to the fashion of the time, set by the Parker 51 and soon followed by many pen makers. The gold filled cap adds an elegant and precious look to the pen.

This pen is in excellent condition with a very pleasant, springy and flexible nib.
