Introduced in 1948, the Extra range of piston fillers soon became Omas' best selling line.

Both the ogival and the facetted versions soon proved to be fashionable, charming and totally reliable writers.

The smaller models ( 555/S - cylindrical and 555/F - facetted) were designed for the female market and in most cases these pen were fitted with extremely flexible nibs.

The better flexibility of these smaller nibs is probably connected to their size which enhances Omas nibs' standard  springiness and responsiveness.

This Omas 555/S in gray pearl celluloid is a great writer. The pen is in excellent condition with only some blue accent remaining in the ink window. Its nib is very responsive and pleasant to use. It offers a flexible and very smooth EF line.
