NETTUNO SUPERBA black celluloid

Incrediby beautiful and rare  Sr. size Nettuno Superba in black celluloid with original nib and original box.

The Superba model was Nettuno's  top of the range and these pens are extremely rare to find today.

They were produced in three sizes. Their design and finish are remarkably reminiscent of Omas' Minerva Ellittica models and it is not unlikely that this Nettuno model was result of a collaboration between Mr. Vecchietti (Nettuno's founder) and Mr. A. Simoni from Omas.

I enclose the image of a Minerva leaflets from the Omas book, which shows the three sizes of the Minerva Ellittica  (the three pens on the right). The resemblance between this Nettuno and the Omas pens, is more than evident.

The pen is in excellent condition and has no damages. The decorative rings are firm and show no signs of brassing.

The nib is marked "14 Ki" which means 14 carats. The letters "Ki" to indicate gold carats are often found on Omas nibs, too. The threE intials on the nib: A.C.V. refer to Mr. Vecchietti's wife, whose name was Ada Corazza Vecchietti. The same three initials are included in the image on the lid of the box.

Time of production: mid 1930's
