MONTBLANC WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE BALL PEN - MIB

In 2016 Montblanc issued  the limited edition William Shakespeare, to celebrate the 400th Anniversary of the most famous “bard” in the world.

William Shakespeare’s work is considered the highest expression of drama and poetry of English theater.

The series of writing instruments which Montblanc dedicated to Shakespeare is full of symbolic meanings and images coming from the world of his plays.

The octagonal shape of the cap recalls the Globe Theater of London  while the black and white contrast symbolizes the colors of the theater flags: white for comedy and black for tragedy.

The design of the clip, with a round ending, symbolized the gold earring Shakespeare used to wear.

The gold band and the end of the barrel is decorated with symbolic images drawn from 7 of his major plays.

The decoration of the barrel is meant to recall the quill pen Shakespeare used to write his plays.

Last but not least, the nib is enriched with the outline of a scene coming from Romeo and Juliet.

The black, octagonal cap shows Shakespeare’s signature in white.

The numbers of this limited edition are 9000 ball pens, 8700 fountain pens and 7000 rollerball pens.

This ball pen is unused and has its complete packaging in perfect condition.
