MONTBLANC MEISTERSTUCK 149 - 1970s - F NIB

The Montblanc Meisterstück 149 is arguably one of the most iconic and recognizable fountain pens in the world.
Montblanc introduced the Montblanc 149 in 1952 and the model soon became the flagship pen for the company, largely due to its imposing size and exceptional writing performance.
Earlier models were made in celluloid, which was replaced by resin in the 1970s.
Over the decades, there have been subtle variations in the 149's design, including changes to the feed, piston threads (from plastic to brass in the 1990s), the length of the central rib on the upper part of the clip and the barrel construction (from a single piece to a two-piece design in 1985). However, the core aesthetic and functionality of the model have remained basically unchanged.
Early resin models are closer to their celluloid predecessors in terms of quality of writing than later products and often have semiflexible nibs which are extremely pleasant to use.
This early resin Montblanc 149 has a 14C nib and can be dated back to the late 1970s. The nib is smooth and semiflexible, with an F tip.
The pen comes with its original presentation box.
