MONTBLANC 146 SET - BLACK CELLULOID WITH BOX

In 1948, Montblanc restyled its top line of pens and replaced the 13X series with the more modern-looking 14Xs.

Sizes available were 142, 144, and 146. The large 149 was introduced only in 1952.

All the pens of the new line were manufactured in black celluloid. Beyond black, Montblanc later on introduced a beautiful striped celluloid in two tones of green and gray which was used for all the sizes.

Feeders on these models were initially flat with two back channels. Later feeders have a bumped back and a different design.

The 146 is probably the most successful size of the line as it is perfectly suitable both for a feminine hand and a standard male hand.

This set is in superb condition with very minimal signs of time and use. The striped ink window still retains the original decorative black lines. The star has a yellowish shade which adds a bit of extra charme to this precious vintage piece.

The nib is soft and very pleasant to to use.
