INVICTA SAFETY PEN by Fiani and Ciampi, then Tibaldi

Invicta pens were manufactured in Florence by a small company named Fiani and Ciampi.

Production started in the early decades of 1900 with safety pens in black ebonite, often enriched with overlays, then flanked by beautiful pens in colorful celluloid.

In the late 1930's the Fiani and Ciampi company was acquired by Tibaldi and the Invicta brand became part of Tibaldi's products. The identity of Invicta pens remained untouched and they retained their original style and design.

Invicta celluloid pens are very often extremely refined and manufactured with high quality celluloids.

Safety pens with overlay show a typical floral clip and are generally very simple.

This Invicta pen has instead a very unusual overlay with a shiny/matte decoration and sports an Art Deco clip.

The turning knob shows a hand engraved dedication with the date of 1966. Being a model from the 1940s, it was probably given as a gift in modern times.

The pen is fitted with a Rover nib. Invicta gold nibs are not known.
