DELATA SAMI - INDIGENOUS PEOPLE COLLECTION - STANDARD EDITION

The Sami population is not constituted in an independent state, it possesses a representative body, the Sami Parliament; a capital, Karasjok, and their own flag.
The special limited edition Sami collection includes… a limited release of 963 fountain pens (1KS) in Vermeil (925% sterling silver gold plated) with lateral filling system.
In 2003 Delta inaugurated the series of writing instruments called "Indigenous People" which were dedicated to indigenous populations all over the world who have safeguarded their traditions and style of life.
The first limited edition was dedicated to the Masai population and many others were manufactured in the following years. The Sami limited edition was introduced in 2008 and comprised both fountain pens and rollerballs.
The Sami population constitutes a very peculiar community which is not a state but has its own parliament, a flag and a capital which is Karasjok. The Sami people live in the North of Europe (Sweden, Norway and part of Russia) within the region known as Sápmi.
As per Delta' tradition, next to the limited edition of 963 pieces, with 18 ct gold nib and lever filling mechanism, a less precious limited edition of 1963 converter fillers with steel nib was marketed, too. This pen is number 0457/1963.
The pen is unused and is fitted with an F nib.
