AURORA OPTIMA gray marbled - first series

Introduced in 1938, the Optima represents Aurora's attempt to get into the growing market of pens with transparent barrel and ink visibility. The Optima was originally manufactured in two colors only (gray and green marbled) and in one size.

The model was later on reviewed; the finish of the cap was changed and the greek key band was replaced with three thin rings.

The filling mechanism is activated by a long shaft which creates a vacuum on the way down, thus allowing the barrel to fill with ink.

This Aurora Optima in gray marbled celluloid is in excellent condition with only minimal traces of oxidization on the clip.
