Waterman introduced the Exception line in the early 2000 to replace the Man 100 and Man 200 models. Like its predecessors, the Exception was offered in two sizes, XL and Slim, to suit every size of hand.

Nib units are the same: the  Exception XL  has the same nib and feeder as the Man 100, while the Exception slim has the same feeder and nib as the Man 200. 

The Exception was designed as a luxury pen with a number of finishes which also include solid gold an solid silver. 

This Watermean Exception XL with rhodium plated finish is unused and it comes with its original packaging.
