WATERMAN 552 1/2 L.E.C. SET - PANSY PANEL DECORATION - 14 CT GOLD

Ever since the introduction of lever fillers, the 52 has been for Waterman its most successful model, thanks on the one side to its proper size and balance which make it perfectly suitable for medium and small hands and, on the other side, for the good price/quality ratio.
The 52 has been declined in wide range of variations, with sizes going from 51up to 58 and availability of short models (indicated by the suffix V) and thinner pens ( indicated by the suffix 1/2). Lever filling models of the 1920's were manufactured in colorful ebonite, with solid gold, solid silver and gold filled overlays with a number of designs. The acronym L.E.C. (Long Extended Case) indicated a full size overlay.
A few patterns of decorations are rarer than others because they were produced in smaller numbers at the time.
This 552 1/2 L.E.C. is in excellent condition with no damages to the solid gold casing and a beautiful and rare pansy panel decoration.
The pen is a very pleasant writer, too, with an EF flexible nib.
The pen has initials engraved on the barrel.
