VISCONTI RAI SPECIAL EDITION- PEARLESCENT BLUE

Like many other pen companies, Visconti has produced special editions on commission which are extremely difficult to catalogue.

They were never included in the standard production booklets nor sold through retailers. Many of them do not offer any hint to show the association to the organization/company they were made for.

In this case, the small blue logo on the cap top, discloses instead the connection of this pen to the Italian Radio and Television Network ( RAI) whose symbol is actually a pair of bue stylized wings. This evocative logo was designed by Stefano Aureli.

The external borders of the wings trace the outline of two human profiles which express the idea of dialogue and interaction. The choice of the blue is meant to evocate the idea of technology, while the shape of the stylized butterfly recalls freedom ad fantasy.

Visconti used a pearlescent deep blue acrylic with silver accents to manufacture this pen, in order to match the color and symbolic meaning of the logo and added a silver colored clip in the shape o a microphone.

The filling mechanism is the patented Power Vacuum filler which guarantees a large ink capacity.

This pen is in pristine condition with very little traces of use, if any. It is fitted with a beautiful 14 ct two-tone gold nib, grade F.
