UNIVERSAL BUTTON FILLER-UNUSED WITH BOX

Universal pens were manufactured in Milan by the Cavaliere Brothers' Company. The Company was active since the 1920's through the 1940's. They manufactured semi-precious and precious metal overlays on commission  for many brands. Their overlays are of the highest quality.

They offered a wide range of decorations and styles, from filigree to high relief decorations .

The Company also had its own brands, which were, among others, Universal and Record. Universal pens were manufactured both in celluloid and with semi-precious metal overlays from the late 1920's till the 1940s.

Their celluloids were often very unusual and rich of fascinating color combinations.

The Company's logo was a horseshoe (Cavaliere in Italian means Knight, a person who has to do with horses) and it is reproduced on the box.

The pen is a very nice button filler in colorful celluloid and it is unused.

It is a promotional  pen  and it has two engravings on the barrel: on the one side " Assicuratrice Italiana ( Italian Insurance Company) and the name on the other side of the barrel:  "Riunione Adriatica di Sicurtà'.

The pen is fitted with its original 14 ct Universal nib, which is nicely flexible.
