SIMPLEX EXCELSIOR blue and bronze celluloid

Extremely rare Simplex Excelsior button filler with greek key cap band in blue and bronze celluloid.  Very little is known about the Simplex brand but it is very likely that it was connected with the "THE KING" factory. Many similarities between Simplex and The King pens suggest in fact a connection. In some cases pens are absolutely identical apart from the imprint on the barrel and their nibs.

This pen is a senior size and sports a beautiful 14 ct gold The King nib. Although the correct nib would have to be Simplex, a The King nib appears acceptable.

The celluloid is a fantastic blue and bronze, the same beautiful color which can be found in Omas, Minervas and Ercolessi pens too.

Time of production: early 1930's
