PRISMATICA BY THE KING/RADIUS - GRAY STACKED CELLULOID

The  The King company based in Turin was one of the most active and most qualitative pen companies in Italy from the 1920's till the 1950s. Their products were named The King (with various lines existing) and later on Radius. The shift between The King and Radius was a consequence of Italy's anti- foreign legislation of the time, which made the use of non-Italian names almost illegal.

This pen is named Simpa 27 ( Simpa is an acronym which means  Societa' Italiana Materie Plastic e Affini - Italian Company for Plastic and Other Materials), which is probably the  name of the company which manufactured the celluloid,  and has distinctive features which connect it to The King/Radius' production.

The clip and the typical pierced cap band are a The King  trademark which make their pens immediately recognisable.

This pen is a senior size in excellent condition with a beautiful  14 ct gold Prismatica nib. Prismatica pens were part of The King/Radius' lines of production, In standard Prismatica models, the name is engraved vertically on the barrel.

The nib is flexible, smooth and extremely responsive.

The side lever is just a little bit soft on the body of the pen but works properly and has no damage.

Length: 13,5 cm.
