PARKER NORMAN ROCKWELL LIMITED EDITION - UNUSED WITH COMPETE PACKAGING

Issued in 1998 in 3500 pieces, the Parker Norman Rockwell limited edition was meant to be a celebration of the year-long collaboration between the Parker Pen company and Norman Rockwell.

Norman Rockwell was a very successful artist and illustrator whose works appeared every week in the Saturday Evening Post from 1916 to 1963. His representations of American daily life was widely appreciated by the public; he depicted normal American people in simple situations conveying the feeling that his images were common to everybody.

Parker was well aware of Rockwell's  evocative power and in 1929 requested his ability to draw the promotional campaign for the launch of the moderne Parker Duofold. The campaign was launched for Christmas and the result was the image of a smiling Santa Claus writing with the Parker Duofold. Today we would say that this ad went "viral" as it substantially  spurred the advertising campaign and sales.

In 1959, the partnership between Rockwell and Parker was renovated with the promotional campaign for the Parker 51.

Thanks to a partnership between the Parker Pen Company and the Norman Rockwell Family Trust, the limited edition dedicated to this great artist took shape. The pen is a modern Duofold in black and pearl, with the name Norman Rockwell engraved on the cap and a medallion on the cap top depicting the artist's profile.

Everything in the packaging is a celebration of Rockwell's as an artist and painter. The pen is housed in a beautiful Fiddleback Maple wooden box and the packaging is completed by a portfolio containing four limited and numbered fine prints all coming from the Saturday evening Posts.

The pen, the portfolio and the authenticity certificate are housed in large suitacas which recalls the artist's travelling suitcase containing colors, brushes and papers to paint and draw outdoors.

This pen is unused and it comes with its compete packaging.
