OMAS TOKYO BLACK- Rare HT cartridge filler

The Tokyo line  was introduced by Omas in 1993. The model had been designed by the famous industrial designer E. Sottsass who drew inspiration from Oriental minimalism to develop the project of the pen.

The clip is simple and  linear and the round shape at the top recalls the initial "O" from Omas.

The Tokyo was produced in colorful resin in an nice array of colors: viridian green, lychee nut green, blue Venezia, persimmon orange and classic black.

The nib was originally  gold plated steel, with a typical decoration, as the model was meant for a young  market and was not supposed to be too expensive.

Gold nibs exist, too and are very rare and desirable.

This Tokyo model is particualrly interesting as it is a very unusual and rare cartridge filler and has HT finish instead of the usual gold filled trim.

I have only found a very very few of these pens so far and they all were NOS, therefore  I think this model was never marketed.

It comes with its original presentation box.

Nib grade is BB.
