The 556/S was introduced in 1948 and soon became one of the most successful Omas models. It is a slender and light piston filler, designed to be a real workhorse.

556/S models can be found with a variety of nibs but most of them are nicely flexible and very pleasant to use. Its small version, the 555/s was designed for female hands.

The small 555/S is a very light pen which is often found with very flexible nibs, as it often happens with small models. The design of small Omas nibs seems to enhance flexibility and springiness.
