OMAS 361 ARCO BRONZE CELLULOID - VERY RARE

Very rare Omas 361 in gray arco bronze celluloid.

The 361 model was first introduced in 1948 and it was one of the most innovative pens of the time as it could offer two writing modes in the same pen. Just by turning the pen you could have a rigid or a flexible nib.

The model was offered in jet black, arco brown and arco gray, in four sizes: lady size in two versions, standard size and oversize (marked 381B on the barrel).

The model was initially introduced with white dots on the nib hood. The white dots were later on subsituted with brass dots. Hoods without dote exist, too (this one hasn't got any dots). The early white dots got stained with ink, while the brass dots were often oxidised. Having a hood without dotes solved the problem.

The model was reviewed a number of times to modernize it and make it more suitable to the evolving market. Later models area torpedo-shaped and were manufactured both in solid colors and with metal caps. The latest version of the 361 is the model VS, introduced in the 60s.

The arco bronze color is the rarest. Paradoxically enough, it was probably the least successful at the time the model was marketed, thus becoming rare fro today's collectors.

This Omas 361 is in very good condition with only some minimal signs of wear on the upper part of the clip.
