MONTBLANC CAPOLAVORO - nr. 20 for the Italian market

Italy has always represented a natural eexport market for the Germany pen industry. Since the early 1900's a number of Montblanc models were marketed in Italy, sometimes with details and features which diverged from the standard German production.

In the 1920s and even more in the 1930's, the Italian government supported Italian manufacturers and even enforced laws which prohibited the use of foreign denominations for the products which were marketed in Italy.

Montblanc pens which were imported in Itay had therefore the name "Meisterstuck"  translated into "Capolavoro" and very often the words "fabbricata in Italia"  or "fabbricata in Germania" were added and engraved on the caps or barrels of the pens, just to make them look more Italian than German

Among the most common Capolavoro models found in Italy, there was the Nr. 20 push button filler, which was marketed in Italy in the same range of colors as in Germany.

This Capolavoro is manufactured in black and pearl celluloid with very minimal traces of discoloration. It has a beautiful Capolavoro imprint on the cap and the original Montblanc engraving on the barrel.
