MONTBLANC 144 GREEN STRIPED CELLULOID

In 1948 Montblanc restyled its lines of pens; the 13X models were discontinued ( with the exception of 139 which was replaced in 1952) and 14Xs were introduced.

All the pens of the new line were manufactured in celluloid. Beyond black, Montblanc later on introduced a beautiful striped celluloid in two different tones of green and in  gray which was used for all the sizes.

Initially only sizes 142, 144 and 146 were produced. The big 149, introduced in 1952, was manufactured in black celluloid only.

Early feeders on these models were flat with two back channels. Later feeders have a bumped back and a different design.

This Montblanc 142 in green striped celluloid is in excellent condition with only a minimal shade of amber on the barrel. It has a bumbed feeder and a very nice F nib.
