IDEAL FOUNTAIN PEN 1930's - Pompei red celluloid

Very beautiful  1930's  Ideal Fountain Pen  in burgundy/red celluloid with gold inserts ( Pompei red). The name Ideal was quite common in Italy and was used by various pen companies. It  clearly drew inspiration from Waterman's Ideal fountain pen and exploited the US brand's fame on the market.

The pen is a large button filler in excellent condition, most likely produced by the Cavaliere Company in Milan

The clip shows some minor traces of brassing.

The nib is 14 ct gold and it is smooth and flexible.
