WATERMAN 42 PATTERN - 18 KR OVERLAY CHECQUERED DECORATION

Extremely beautiful example of a richly ornated Itlian 18 Kr overlay on a Waterman 42 safety pen and matching pencil. The decoration is developed with white-tone filigree square tassels on a yellow gold background with guilloché decoration. The result is a very impressive and rich pattern.

The caps of the pencil and the pen top sport the typical high-relief rose which is mostly found on overlays produced by the Milan-based Cavaliere company.

The clip on the pencil is different from the clip on the pen but this is pretty normal as pencils could be retailed on their own and were matched to pens when needed. Various types of clips aere used.
