WATERMAN 42 1/2 V SOLID GOLD 18 CT OVERLAY - EMERALD CAP CROWN

Waterman safety pens with precious and semi-precious overlay have always represented  a very interesting chapter in the history of vintage fountain pens. They are in fact expression of the time and replicates the artistic trends of arts and architecture of their era.

In this case, the Art Nouveau principles of the 1920s are very evident with a rich high-relief rose decoration on the body and cap of the pen and an intricate foliage cap finish. The richness of the overlay is strengthened by a beautiful line of green emeralds which are perfectly suitable for the solid gold overlay of the pen. This precious  42 1/2 V is in perfect condition and it comes with a beautiful presentation box.

The overlay is definitely of Italian origin as you do not find this type of elaborate and rich finish in any other country.
