WAHL ALL METAL NR. 2 - ZIG-ZAG PATTERN

Wahl All-Metal pens represent a very fascinating chapter in the history of American fountain pens. Their origin is deeply connected with the development of the market for Wahl Eversharp pencils. Fountain pens came in fact later than pencils and mutated all the expertise and the know-how Wahl had developed in the production of pencils.

These pens are not only beautiful and highly collectible but are also technologically interesting for two reasons: a) they are all metal, without an ebonite body below the metal casing; b) they are fitted with a double lever (patented by John C. Wahl in 1920), which does not need a supporting box to be installed onto the barrel.

The special Wahl lever is much more functional and less fragile than any other lever on the market at the time.

The production of Wahl All-Metal pens started in 1921 and continued approx till 1928/1929. A number  of patterns were manufactured a few of which are extremely rare today. The style of this line of pens is definitely elegant and refined and they stand out exactly because of their peculiar, slender and very charming look.

This Wahl Nr. 2 has a Zig-zag pattern of decoration and it is in superb condition. It is fitted with a very pleasant Wahl nib which is smooth and flexible. It comes with its original box.
