TIBALDI BONONIA - MINT WITH BOX

The Bononia  is the last model manufactured by the Bologna-based  Tibaldi company, just before the historical trademark was sold to the Aquila family ( Montegrappa) and the entire production was moved way from Bologna.

Bononia is the Latin name for the city of Bologna. This pen was in fact dedicated to Bologna, the city were Mr. G. Tibaldi was born and were the history of Tibaldi pens started in the very early years of the 1900s.

According to the original project, 500  Bononias should have been produced but actually production was stopped very early and probably only some 250 pens were manufactured.

The Bononia is totally different in principle and style from the other Tibaldi models of the 1990s, which drew inspiration from vintage pens of the 1930's.

This pen was designed to be a modern pen  and a perfect writer. The threads were placed very high at the end of the barrel in order to free the body of the pen from any kind of hindrance and make the writing experience as comfortable as possible. The shape of the pen is designed to express balance and simplicity as the utmost expression of elegance.

This Bononia is number 036 and it is unused.

It comes with its original wooden presentation box. The small drawer where the pen and the bottle of ink are housed also works a small pen case as it has room for another 6 pens.
