PILOT ELITE SET - GRID PATTERN - UNUSED WITH BOX

The Pilot Elite series was introduced in the mid-1960s as a masterclass in compact, stylish design soon becoming an iconic long-short pen. By 1969, the line hit a cultural peak with the Elite S - KaraKara,  that became an overnight must-have following a hit TV commercial.  In the early 70s in the Pilot released the Elite S - 22 with a 22K gold nib, alongside luxury editions featuring white gold and silver grid patterns.  The grid pattern was then made more commercial and models with metal grid cap were offered as well as models where the grid casing is extended to the barrel as well.

The Elite grid pattern was applied to pencils, ballpoints and rollerballs as well. Elite pens have become highly collectible today as they have beautiful nibs and can fit both small and large hands.

This Pilot Elite set is unused and it is offered with its original box. The fountain pen is matched by a mechanical pencil with complete grid pattern.

Date of production is shown on the 18 ct gold nib: 1974.

The pen is offered without converter
