PARKER 51 WITH ITALIAN OVERLAY BY KOSCA - RARE

In the late 1940s the official Parker distributor for Italy commissioned the production of special rolled gold overlays (laminato oro)  for Parker 51s to the Milan-based Kosca company. The basic idea was that the Italian market would appreciate the golden embellishment on the well known 51 model.

The first overlays were numbered, not as a limited edition but simply as a way to keep track of the pieces produced. Later on the serial was abandoned.
