PARKER 51 2002 SPECIAL EDITION- VISTA BLUE - UNUSED

The Parker 51 was a revolutionary model which had a powerful influence on the world of fountain pens. Its innovative design, the hooded nib and the extraordinary resistant lucite material it was manufactured with, as well as the clasp cap, marked a turning point for the pen industry. The model set aesthetical and technical  standards for the years to come and was imitated, copied and re-interpreted in many ways by almost every pen company.

It sold more than 20 million pieces in 30 years and it was granted the Fashion Academy Award for its design, technical features and the expression of high-quality craftsmandhip.

In 2002 Parker launched a Parker 51 special edition to celebrate the success of the model. It was manufactured in two versions only: vista blue with sterling cap and black with vermeille cap.

These special editions were marketed wth Parker's guarantee that they would never be produced again, which was a marketing strategy to make the model gain popularity and increase its market value.

The pens were alla converter fillers and had a very elaborate packaging with a rigid box replicating the style of vintage Parker 51 boxes, a black cardboard outer box, a polishing cloth and a booklet rich with historical information.

This Parker 51 special edition in vista blue is unused and comes with its original packaging were only the polishing cloth is missing.
