OMAS PARAGON BURGUNDY CELLULOID - OLD STYLE

In the early 1990s, after almost a decade of pens manufactured in resin only, Omas went back to the use of celluloid and introduced a new line of pens called "Collezione Celluloide".

Early models had the date of production engraved on the grip and were marked Omas Extra on the barrel. They were sold in special presentation boxes which had a  vintage look.

Production of pens in celluloid with a similar design and style continued for more than a decade with a series of minimal variations in imprints and metal finishes. Many limited and special editions were manufactured on commission using this successful model which drew inspiration from the past.

These pen which were named Extra were actually the celluloid counterpart of the Paragon model in black resin which had been introduced in the 1980's and they were called Paragon, too.

The definition "old Style" was added later and precisely in the early 2000s, when Omas radically changed the design of its pens ( but not their model names: they remained Paragon and Milord as in the past...) and introduced the "new style" Paragon and Milord models. These pens are thicker and longer, they have a completely different look and represent the modern interpretation of the classical  Paragon model.

This Omas old style Paragon in burgundy marbled celluloid is part of the late 1990's production. It is fitted with a two tone nib and has a two tone finish of the cap, too.

It is not numbered nor dated and it is probably part of a special production manufactured on commission.

The pen is in pristine condition but has no box.
