OMAS OLD STYLE PARAGON - BURGUNDY CELLULOID 1991 - UNUSED

The Collezione Celluloide was introduced by Omas in 1991 and it comprised a line of facetted piston fillers with greek key cap band which were designed drawing inspiration from of the successful lines of Extra  lever fillers of the 1903's.

These pens were aesthetically very similar to the vintage Extras but for the filling mechanism and the nib, which was 14 ct yellow gold in the early models and 18 ct two-tone gold in the modern line.

The range of colors comprised: jet black, royal blue, arco bronze, arco green,  marbled burgundy, saft green, saffron and speckled gray. Speckled gray remaoned in production ofr a couple of years only and it was soon replaced with pearl gray.

The line was produced in three sizes and the early packaging Omas used for this line was reminiscent of vintage boxes.

All the pens had the date engraved on the section( from 1991 to 1997).

Production of Paragons in various colors of celluloid (a few colors were added to the range, including saffron and  burlwood) continued till the end of the decade, with models without the date engraved on the section. Metal finishes were added, such  as HT and ruthenium.

These pens re mostly foundd without the "Omas Extra" engraving on the barrel.

These models are generally referred to as "Old Style Paragons" to distinguish them from the "New Style Paragons" (also known as Grand Paragons), which were itroduced in the early 2000s with a completely different design.

This Old Style Omas Paragon is unused and in pristine condition. There is a small scratch on the section probably due to the screwing of the cap.

The pen is fitted with an F nib.
