OMAS LUCENS Sr. size wartime finish

The Lucens model was introduced in 1936.

The word "Lucens" is Latin and means "shiny", "full of light". The denomination was choosen to emphasize the transparency of the barrel, which allowed ink visibility and a great capacity, thanks to the innovative reverse plunger mechanism.

Omas Lucens models were initially produced with a greek key cap band which was later simplified into three cap rings. During wartime cap finish became chrome-colored in association with steel nibs, whose alloy was called "Permanio".

Immediately after WWII, all pens with chrome trim were fitted with gold nibs  again as the public seemed to disliked steel nibs, which were reminiscent of a time of hardness and economic difficulties.

Omas Lucens models were produced in a wide range of marbled colors: green, gray, burgundy, blue and blue striped ( the latter is extremely rare).

This Omas Lucens in marbled green celluloid is in near mint condition with a perfectly trasparent barrel and no traces of discoloration. The cap top, which is the most delicate part of this model and is often found with traces of crystallization, is absolutely clean and perfect.

The blind cap stil retains the small vertical decorative lines which are often worn out because of use and overpolishing.

The pen is fitted with a beautiful Omas Extra 14 ct gold M nib which is very generous and very flexible.
