OMAS 556/S WITH GOLD FILLED CAP- VERY FLEXIBLE NIB

Introduced in the late 1940's the Omas Extra 55X series was designed to be a real "work horse".

The line comprised both Ogiva cylindrical models ( with the "S" suffix) and facetted models ( with the "F" suffix). The Ogiva model was available in three sizes ( 555, 556 and 557) both in celluloid and with gold filled cap, to follow the  style of the world famous Parker 51.

Models with gold filled cap exist both with screw and with slip on cap.

Although pretty thin and light, the 556/S model  is really sturdy and very well balanced. It is a piston filler which is perfect for everyday use.

This pen is in excllent condition with a very deep imprint on the barrel.

The nib is F and it is extremely flexible.
