MONTBLANC KARL DER GROSSE Limited edition - no box

This Montblanc Patron of the Arts 4810 limited edition was issued in 1998 to celebrate the great Carolingian King and later Emperor of the Roman Empire.

Charlemagne is considered the father of Europe as he was able to guarantee an unprecedented time of peace and union in Europe. He gave furthermore birth to the Carolingian Renaissance, a flourishing time of cultural and intellectual activity.

This pen, manufactured in solid 925 silver with a cable twist design  is meant to synthetize the aesthetical principles of Carolingian taste. The filigree artwork which enriches the cap and the barrel recalls the decorations of Aachen Cathedral, where Charlemagne was crowned.

The  rhodium-plated nib in 18-karat gold is decorated by an engraving of an early Medieval pattern and the emperor’s monogram.

This Montblanc pen is pre-owned but it has never been used. It is unfortunately without box.
