Introduced in the early 1950s, the 74X line comprised pens with gold filled, silver and solid gold overlay in two sizes which could have matching pencils.

The 744 is the standard /gentleman size, while the 742 is the smaller/lady size. The model is slender and has a very aerodynamic look, perfectly in line with the fashion of the time and it is fitted with a telescopic piston.

This pen is a great writer: its EF nib is smooth and extremely pleasant to use.

The overlay  is in very good condition with no major damages but for a tiny (really tiny) ding on the overlay of the barrel.  I tried to catch it in the pictures to make it visible.

It is a perfect everyday writer, offered at a very affordable price.
