In 1994, the Italian journalist Ilaria Alpi was killed in Mogadishu together with the cameraman Miran Hrovatinon; they were both assignment for the Italian state RAI-3 television station.

Alpi and Hrovatin were killed while investigating a complex web of illegal arms trafficking and toxic waste disposal involving Somali “politicians” and Italian political and military figures.

In 1995, thanks to the commitment of Ilaria Alpi’s family, the Ilaria Alpi Journalistic and Television Award was established. The Award was meant to support freedom of information, no-violence and safeguard of human rights.

This initiative was supported by the Italian UNESCO Commission with the high patronage of the Italian President of the Republic.

In 1995 Delta gave its contribution to Ilaria Alpi’s memory with the Peace limited edition. The Peace was manufactured in 994 pieces with a lever filling mechanism and 1994 with converter.

The symbolic meaning of the pen is resumed by the high relief dove on the cap top and is outline engraved on the nib, too.

This limited edition lever filler pen is in pristine condition but unfortunately it has no box.
