Benvenuta

New Limited Edition part of the Anima VIntage line

The benvenuta limited edition pens  are  manufactured by Leonardo and are fitted with vintage 14 ct Wellcome nibs. These nibs were manufactured in Bologna by the same nib factory which produced nibs for Columbus, Nettuno and many others in the 1940s.

They are marked “made in USA” because in Italy at the time a foreign origin was perceived as better quality … but then they stamped the word “Welcome” with two “LLs”… which is funny and typically Italian! The spelling mistake of the name “Michigan “ is another funny feature how poor the knowledge of English (…and geography) was at the time in Italy.

The nibs are beautiful and fully flexible as you can see from the writing sample.

The pen is a piston filler and it is 14,5 cm long.

It is suitable for calligraphy but also for everyday writing, as the nib is extremely responsive.

The pen is called Benvenuta which is the Italian translation of “Welcome” and is the result of a collaboration of excellence which comprises my idea, Stefano Costantini’s prototype and Leonardo’s production. It is Welcome/Benvenuta because it expresses collaboration instead of competition which is something we all welcome.
