AURORA R.A. 4 - black ebonite

In the early 1920's Aurora produced safety pens in a variety of sizes and finishes. They were named R.A. (Rientrante Aurora) which means Aurora safety pen.

There were 7 sizes, going from 00 up to 5. Basic models were produced in black ebonite with various types of finishes. Mottled ebonite and a wide variety of overlays were used, too.

This pen is a R.A. 4 in plain black ebonite with the typical Aurora clip with laurel leaves.

The pen is in excellent condition. The imprint on the barrel is slightly faded but still easily visible.

The nib is Aurora Nr. 5 one decade younger than the pen itself. It is extremely flexible.
