DELTA VECCHIETTI LIMITED EDITION - 2013 - M NIB
In 2009 Delta manufactured a special limited edition in collaboration with the Vecchietti shop in Bologna. The pen was meant to celebrate the 85th anniversary of the famous Bologna-based shop run by the Vecchietti family.
Umberto Vecchietti was one of the first Italian pen makers to enter the market with his own brand of pens "Nettuno", dedicated to the symbol of Bologna, the Nettuno statue located in Piazza Maggiore.
Pen production started as early as 1913/14 but the shop was opened a few years later. The actual reference date for the shop is in fact 1924.
This Celebration pen is a lever filler manufactured in creamy yellow celluloid with black veins and has a silver cap band with the name Vecchietti in high relief. The cap top is decorated with a silver shield with the initials: A.C.V. ( Ada Corazza Vecchietti , Umberto's wife) which are the same initials we find on vintage Nettuno gold nibs.
The pen is fitted with a Delta Fusion nib grade M and is offered with its original presentation box, where unfortunately the ink bottle is missing.
