In 1948 Omas revised the design of all its models and introduced a line of piston fillers called Extra. These were available both with facetted and cylindrical design in three sizes: 555, 556 and 557.

Extra 557 models are nowadays very rare and desirable because to a certain extent, hey equal in size modern pens, while the standard 556 size can be considered too small for large hands or for users accostumed to the big size of modern pens. 

This Omas Extra Ogiva 557 is a nice and substantial pen in excellent conditio which appears to be unlinked. The engraving on the body is deep and fresh and the nib is a springy Omas Extra 14 ct  which is extremely pleasant to use.

Nib grade is F.
