In the 1940s Columbus introduced a line of piston fillers in three sizes in a large array of colourful celluloids to try and get a foothold on the medium-priced share of the market. The 9x line was a solid and well build model with simple metal finish (a single cap band) whose strength was in the quality and liveliness of the colors. The model was manufactured in classical shades such as black, blue and brown tortoise but also in arco red and arco blue, flashy light green, light arco gray and lined black and pearl, among others.

The model was fitted with quality Columbus 14 ct gold nibs.

This Columbus 94 is the largest model of the line and it is New Old Stock. The nib is a beautiful 14 ct Columbus Extra with a Medium,  very smooth and nicely flexible tip.
